Each radio set is hand-programmed to your address, preloaded with local repeaters, weather, and emergency monitoring — plus four custom encrypted digital channels that only your radios can understand. These radios are built for groups, families, or teams who want private, off-the-shelf communications with no complicated setup.

Every DM-32UV comes with two programming options.

1. The "Works"

• Ham Repeaters (2m & 70cm) – Up to 15 of the closest Ham repeaters with a 25 mile radius
• GMRS Repeaters – all nearby public repeaters with tones & offsets (no private repeaters)
• FRS/GMRS & MURS Radio-to-Radio Channels (GMRS Channels 1-22, MURS Channels 1-5)
• GMRS Digital Channels for Texting Only
• 10 NOAA Weather Channels
• Local Emergency Services  – Local fire and police (if possible) on FM/DMR modes
• 4 Private Encrypted Channels with AES256 encryption with a special encryption key just for you and your package of radios

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why can’t I buy just one radio with this package? Encrypted channels only work when multiple radios share the same encryption key. A single radio would have no one to communicate with privately — making the encryption feature pointless. For that reason, this product is sold in pre-matched sets of at least two radios.

2. I thought encryption was illegal? Encryption is a feature of the Baofeng DM-32UV radio, not something automatically active, but is a main programming feature of their proprietary software. ⚠️ Important: Transmitting encrypted traffic on amateur radio bands is restricted unless encryption keys are publicly disclosed. See the Licensing & Legal Disclaimers section below for details.

3. Why are these encrypted radios more expensive than other CSP programmed radios? Programming encrypted DMR radios is far more complex and time-intensive as we must use Baofeng’s proprietary DMR software, a much more manual process.

📜 Licensing & Disclaimers

It is recommended that you obtain the appropriate GMRS and Ham Radio licensing before transmitting on GMRS and Ham frequencies with this radio. Listening is legal without a license. As a consumer, you are responsible to make sure you are not violating FCC rules, and that you understand what channels you can transmit on. 

• Ham License (FCC Part 97) is required to transmit on amateur frequencies. Listening to ham repeaters or channels does not require a license.
• GMRS License is required to transmit on GMRS frequencies. Listening to GMRS repeaters or channels does not require a license.
• Do not transmit on emergency public-safety channels. We turn this setting off by default. 
• ⚠️ Encryption Notice: Encrypted transmissions on amateur radio frequencies are restricted unless encryption keys are publicly disclosed. You are responsible for operating this radio in compliance with all FCC regulations.

Once programming is finished, we ship your order via USPS Priority Mail, which typically takes an additional 2–3 business days to arrive. Please note that holidays and weekends may extend delivery times.
